Who We Are
Founded in 2016 by Scott after a layoff, he did contracting work full time under the company name before returning to the corporate world, sporadically taking on small consulting projects. Several years later, Amber decided to revive the company and offer her experience building well designed, highly reliable systems to companies looking for a boost.
While the company is now focused on systems engineering, please do not hesitate to contact us for embedded systems design or testing. We can provide firmware development and circuit design services.
Amber Marie Jackson
(she/they)
Amber has 14 years of experience in systems engineering. She became an engineer because she wanted to work in the medical device industry. Amber started her career getting a strong understanding of systems engineering practices and methods in the public sector with jobs as a systems verification engineer and a requirements manager. She then transitioned into the medical device industry working first as a systems verification lead and then as the lead systems engineer on a surgical robotics product. Their most recent experience was introducing systems engineering concepts and requirements engineering to a consumer electronics company. Amber is a M.S. Systems Engineering student at Johns Hopkins University (she just has the project left!) As someone who has worked in multiple industries and also has an academic background in systems, she relaunched this company to provide a different perspective to clients.
In their spare time, Amber enjoys watching F1, playing board games, gardening, and learning random new craft skills like crochet.
Scott Jackson
(he/him)
Scott has over 18 years of engineering experience, including 4 years as a people leader. His primary expertise is in embedded systems and software, though he also has experience with mobile design. Scott started his career at a small company, which allowed him to develop a wide skillset including firmware design, electrical engineering, signal processing, and project management. Scott has worked in defense, aerospace, and medical device industries as an embedded systems engineer. This experience taught him to design and build highly reliable systems that operate within tight constraints for size, power, and cost. His most recent experience is as a software manager at an ecommerce company growing hardware capabilities and expanding retail payment systems at scale. Along the way, he gained experience with mobile and web software development.
Outside of engineering Scott is a gamer of both the board and video variety, and also enjoys playing the piano.
